Hindi author Sunita Jain conferred with Vyas Samman award 2015
Hindi scholar and writer Sunita Jain was on 17 August 2016 awarded with the prestigious 25th Vyas Samman 2015 for her poetry collection Kshama.
• She received the award by West Bengal Governor K N Tripathi.
• The award instituted by the K K Birla Foundation carries a cash prize of 2.50 lakh rupees.
• It is given annually to outstanding literary work in Hindi authored by an Indian citizen.
• She writes in both English and Hindi and has over 100 books to her credit.
• She began to write at the age of 22 and has published short-stories, novels and poems in Hindi and English.
• Her works in English include A Girl of Her Age and two short-story anthologies A Woman is Dead and Eunuch of Time and Other Stories.
• She had also worked as the professor and the Head of the department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
• Her book Kshama was published in 2008.
• She was awarded with the Padma Shri in 2004.
हिन्दी विद्वान और लेखक सुनीता जैन को 17 अगस्त 2016 को उनकी कविता संग्रह के लिए प्रतिष्ठित 25वें व्यास सम्मान 2015 से सम्मानित किया गया ।
• उन्होंने पश्चिम बंगाल के राज्यपाल कश्मीर एन त्रिपाठी से पुरस्कार प्राप्त किया।
• पुरस्कार के.के. बिड़ला फाउंडेशन द्वारा दिया जाता है जिसमे 2.50 लाख रुपये का नकद पुरस्कार दिया जाता है।
• यह हिन्दी में उत्कृष्ट साहित्यिक काम के लिए भारतीय नागरिक द्वारा लेखकों को प्रतिवर्ष दिया जाता है।
• वो अंग्रेजी और हिंदी दोनों में लिखते हैं और उनके पास 100 से अधिक किताबें है।
• उन्होंने 22 साल की उम्र में लिखना शुरू किया और लघु कहानियों , उपन्यासों और कविताओं हिन्दी और अंग्रेजी में प्रकाशित किया है।
• अंग्रेजी में उनके कामों में ए गर्ल ऑफ़ हर ऐज और दो छोटे - कहानी संकलन एक महिला की मौत है और यूनुच ऑफ़ टाइम एंड अदर स्टोरीज शामिल हैं।
• उन्होंने प्रोफेसर और, दिल्ली के भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान में मानविकी और सामाजिक विज्ञान विभाग के प्रमुख के रूप में काम किया था।
• पुस्तक क्षमा 2008 में प्रकाशित हुआ था।
• 2004 में उन्हें पद्मश्री से सम्मानित किया गया
