Two-day 18th Home Secretary Level Talks between India and Bangladesh starts today
Two-day 18th Home Secretary Level talks between India and Bangladesh started here today.
● The Indian delegation is led by Home Secretary Shri Rajiv Mehrishi and Bangladesh delegation is led by Senior Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Bangladesh, Dr. Md. Mozammel Haque Khan.
● The last such meeting was held in November, 2015 at Dhaka in Bangladesh.
● During the meeting, two sides discussed working of institutional arrangements, security related issues, cooperation in prevention of illegal activities along the borders, border management issues.
● The talks were held in cordial atmosphere and conducive to greater cooperation between the two countries.
● Bangladesh and India are South Asian neighbors. Generally relations have been friendly, although sometimes there are border disputes.
● The historic land boundary agreement was signed on 6 June 2015 which opened a new era in the relations and further stopped all irritants in ties.
भारत और बांग्लादेश के बीच 18वीं दो दिवसीय गृह सचिव स्तर की वार्ता आज शुरू हुई है।
● भारतीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल का नेतृत्व गृहसचिव श्री राजीव महर्षि और बांग्लादेश के प्रतिनिधिमंडल का नेतृत्व बांग्लादेश के गृह मंत्रालय में वरिष्ठ सचिव, डॉ मोहम्मद मोजाम्मिल हक खान कर रहे हैं।
● ऐसी पिछली बैठक नवम्बर, 2015 में ढाका, बांग्लादेश में आयोजित की गई थी।
● बैठक के दौरान दोनों पक्षों ने संस्थागत प्रबंधों के कार्य, सुरक्षा से संबंधित मुद्दों, सीमा के साथ-साथ गैर-कानूनी गतिविधियों की रोकथाम में सहयोग तथा सीमा प्रबंधन के मुद्दों के बारे में विचार विमर्श किया।
● यह वार्ता सौहार्दपूर्ण माहौल में हुई, जो दोनों देशों के मध्य अधिक से अधिक सहयोग के अनुकूल रही।
● भारत व बांग्लादेश दक्षिण एशिया के दो महत्वपूर्ण देश हैं।
● बांग्लादेश की सीमा तीन ओर से भारत द्वारा ही आच्छादित है।
● बांग्लादेश का उद्भव 1971 के भारत पाक युद्ध के साथ हुआ।
● इससे पूर्व इस हिस्से को पूर्वी पाकिस्तान कहा जाता था तथा 1947 में भारत विभाजन के दौरान यह अस्तित्व में आया था।
