About SSC CGL:

Founded in the year 1975, Staff Selection Commission, Combined Graduate Level Examination better known as SSC CGL is one of the most sought after examination in India. SSC is the leading Govt. organization that provides employment to lakhs of students. The SSC CGL online Exam is conducted every year to recruit staff for non-technical Group B and non-gazetted Group C posts in various ministries, departments & organization of India.

SSC CGL 2018 Notification

The official SSC CGL notification was released on 5th May 2018. And the application process started on the same date. The last date to apply is 4th June 2018, which means you can still apply if you haven’t done so. The Tier I exam will be held from 25th July to 20th August 2018. We have provided all the details contained in the official notification here in a concise manner.

SSC has not released the vacancy list for 2018 yet. Although, in the official notification, it is mentioned that SSC CGL vacancy will be announced before declaration of final result. Last year, a total number of 8089 vacancies were filled through this recruitment. We will update the 2018 vacancy as soon as it is officially notified. How to apply for SSC CGLE 2018

  1. Click on the link mentioned above.
  2. The application form will be in two parts; Part – 1 & Part – 2.
  3. Part – 1 of the registration will consist of all the personal details.
  4. Fill in all the required details and click on submit to head to part- 2 of the application form.
  5. In part – 2, pay the application fee as per your category and upload a scanned signature and photograph.
  6. Now, click on submit and save the application.
  7. Finally, take a printout for future reference.
  8. Alternatively, you can also log on to the official website of SSC i.e "ssc.nic.in"
  9. Now, look for apply section and click on apply link under ‘SSC CGL 2018’ and follow the steps as mentioned above.

All the male candidates belonging to General/OBC will have to pay an application fee of Rs. 100/- while there is no application fee for all other categories.

SSC CGL Selection Process

SSC CGL Exam consist of 4 stages as shown below. If you clear the Tier I cut off, only then you will be eligible to sit for SSC CGL Tier II Exam. The final merit list is prepared by adding the marks of all the Tiers. Therefore, you should aim for a high score. Also, don’t neglect the negative marking scheme applicable.

This year, SSC has introduced the concept of normalization of marks. If SSC CGL Tier I & Tier II exam will be conducted in multiple shifts, then the marks scored in Tier 1 and Tier 2 will be normalized. The normalized scores will be treated as final and will be used for qualifying the candidates to next stage and to determine final merit.

Ans. The tests except for the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.

Ans. We all know that reservation is in force, and as such, candidates from reserved categories are given relaxation in age Limit.
