in place of " in recognition of" we should use " in recognition to" in option A.

of course there is an error in part C. but i came across first error in option A, so i don't need to go ahead anymore.

Question:

DIRECTIONS: In the following question, some part of the sentence may have errors. Find out which part of the sentence has an error and select the appropriate option. If a sentence is free from error, select 'No Error'.

Sometimes a Word of the Year is selected in recognition of its arrival, (A)/ but other times it is a word that has been (B)/ knocking on the proverbial door and waiting to be ushered in. (C)/  No error (D)

Options:
A)

A

B)

B

C)

C

D)

D

Solution:

Ans: (c) The preposition for knocking will be AT hence the correct sentence would be “……….but other times it is a word that has been knocking at the proverbial door and waiting to be ushered in.”
