Haryana Judiciary Syllabus 2022 for Prelims Exam

The prelims exam shall be of objective type with multiple-choice questions. The question paper of the preliminary examination consists of 125 questions, each with four marks.

The syllabus of Haryana Judiciary Prelims comprises Current Affairs, Indian Legal History, Constitutional Development, and Acts mentioned under Civil Law-I, Civil Law-II, and Criminal Law indicated for the Main Examination.

It would help if you had a general and basic overview of the main subjects and the ability to answer questions on current events of national and international importance, Indian legal and constitutional history, and governance.

The marking scheme of the prelims exam is that each question carries four marks, and for each wrong answer, you get a -0.8 mark.

However, there is no negative marking for unanswered questions.

For General category candidates to be shortlisted for the mains exam, a minimum of 150 marks should be obtained out of 500 in the Preliminary Examination.

While for all the reserved categories, a minimum of 100 marks should be obtained out of 500.

The minimum eligibility marks for General Category students will be 30%, while for reserved categories, it will be 20%.

Haryana Judiciary Syllabus 2022: Mains Exam

Haryana Judiciary Mains Examination is around the corner since the Haryana Public Service Commission has postponed the Haryana Judiciary Mains Exam Date to 20, 21, and 22 May, 2022.

The Mains exam will consist of written papers with descriptive or narrative / essay-type questions.

Each of the Mains written exams is of 3 hours duration.

The standard for language paper will be the Matriculation Exam of the Board of School Education, Haryana.

Haryana Judiciary Exam 2022 Syllabus: English 

The English paper is conducted for 200 marks, and the questions are based on the following topics:

Haryana Judiciary Exam Syllabus for Viva-Voce/Interview

For a candidate to be qualified for viva-voce, they must secure a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in all the written examinations in Mains.

However, for the candidate belonging to the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Serviceman candidates only (but not dependents of ESM), a minimum of 45% aggregate marks should be obtained for qualification.

Candidates appearing for Viva-voce/Interview must note-

  • The interview is worth a total of 200 marks.
  • The interview will be conducted only in English.
  • The interview is conducted to judge the personal qualities of the candidate.
  • The interview will relate to matters of general interest and will test the candidate's alertness, intelligence, and general outlook.
  • It is mandatory to appear for viva-voce/interview to be considered for the final selection.
  • Candidates will be eligible to be recruited as Civil Judges/Judicial Magistrates if they secure 50% or more marks in aggregate of the marks secured in the main written examination and the viva-voce.
  • The eligibility for the selection as Civil Judges/Judicial Magistrates for the scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Serviceman candidates only, but not dependents of ESM, is 45% or more in aggregate of the marks secured in the main written examination and the viva-voce.
