Question:
A dealer makes a profit of 20% after giving 10% discount on advertised price of a scooter. If he makes a profit of Rs. 7500 on the sale of the scooter. he advertised price was -
Options:
A) Rs. 45000
B) Rs. 47500
C) Rs. 50000
D) Rs. 52500
Solution:
Ans: (c)


9 units profit 

9 units    \(\rightarrow\) 7500

1 units    \(\rightarrow\) \(\cfrac{7500}{9}\)

60 units   \(\rightarrow\) \(\cfrac{7500}{9}\)  × 60 = 50,000 

MP = Rs. 50000 

Alternate solution:   

Profit%=20%=7500

1%=375

than SP=120%=45000 

lets MP is x

then \(x\times\cfrac{(100-10)}{100}=45000\)

\(x=\cfrac{45000\times100}{90}=50,000\)
