Ans: (a) Consider (3x2 – 2x + 1)2 [applying formula of (a + b + c)2]
(3x2)2 + (-2x)2 + (1)2 + 2(3x2) (-2x) + 2 (-2x)(1) + 2(1) (3x2)
⇒ 9x4 + 4x2 + 1 – 12x3 – 4x + 6x2
⇒ 4x4 + 12x3 + 10x2 – 4x + 1
Now, comparing with the given expression we get, p = -4
