PLZ PROVIDE DETAIL AND PREVIOUS STEP TO FIND X , HOW DID YOU CALCULATE X

Question:
5 year ago, the father’s age was 3 times of his son’s age. 5 years hence the ratio between the ages of the father and the son will become 11: 5. Find the father’s present age.
Options:
A) 40 years
B) 45 years
C) 50 years
D) 55 years
Solution:
Ans(c)

Let the 5 years ago, father's age and son's age was 3x and x respectively.

5 year later, Fathers age=3x+5+5=3x+10

and his son age =x+5+5=x+10

According to question,

\(\cfrac{3x+10}{x+10}=\cfrac{11}{5}\)

15x+50=11x+110

4x=60

x=60/4

x=15

Father's present age=3x+5=3x15+5=45+5=50 years
