Either solve by equating slopes or by applying area of triangle meathod.
(x1, y1) (x2,y2) (x3,y3)
Area= 1/2 {x1 (y2-y3) + x2 ( y3-y1) + x3 (y1-y2) }

Question:
If the point (x, y) (1, 2) and (-3, 4) are collinear, then :
Options:
A) x + 2y - 5 = 0
B) x+y - 1 = 0
C) 2x+y-4 = 0
D) 2x - y + 10 = 0
Solution:
Ans: (a)

If (x, y) (1, 2) and (-3, 4) are collinear then the triangle formed by points should be zero

\(\therefore\cfrac{1}{2}\) [2x + 4 - 3y-4x + 6 -y] = 0

-2x- 4y + 10 = 0

orx + 2y - 5 = 0
