can you explain this question without using alligation method

Question:

The ratio of two liquids in a mixture is 3 : 5 and that in another mixture is 6 : 1. In what ratio these two mixtures must be mixed so as to make the ratio of the two liquids 7 : 3?

Options:
A) 44 : 61
B) 44 : 71
C) 44 : 81
D) 44 : 91
Solution:

This is a very simple method actually.

Other method is.

ratio of 1st liquid to the total mixture : 3/8 in first mix 6/7 in second mix.
Consider m litres of 1st mix and 1 litre of 2nd mix is mixed.
( 3/8*m + 6/7*1 ) divided by ( m + 1 ) = 7/10.
Solve and you'll get.
