Question:

If the radius of a right cylinder open at both the ends in increased by 30% and the height of the cylinder is decreased by 50%. Then the curved surface area of the cylinder thus formed is 

 

Options:
A)

    Increased by 38.75% 

B)

    Increased by 40%  

C)

    Decreased by 35% 

 

D)

    Remains same 

Solution:

50%=310,   and   50%=12   

     

     % change =  -720×100%   

               = -35%

  ∴     decrease by 35%
