My answer is 11:1.....

Question:
A man buys spirit at \(\unicode{x20B9} \)60 per litre, adds water to it and then sells it at \(\unicode{x20B9} \)75 per litre. What is the ratio of spirit to water if his profit in the deal is 37.5 %?
Options:
A) 9 : 1
B) 10 : 1
C) 11 : 1
D) 1 : 11
Solution:
S. P. of (Spirit + Water) = \(\unicode{x20B9} \)75

Profit = 37.5 % of \(\unicode{x20B9} \)75

Hence, C. P. = 75 x 100 / 137.5 = \(\unicode{x20B9} \)54.54

Spirit (C. P.)    Water

   60                     0

      \(\searrow\)              \(\swarrow\)

            54.54

      \(\swarrow\)              \(\searrow\)

  54.54            5.454

Required ratio = 54.54 : 5.454 = 10 : 1
