Since a/b + b/a = -1
(a^2 + b^2)/ab=-1
(a^2 + b^2)/=-ab
a^2 + b^2 + ab = 0
We know the formula:
a^3 – b^3 = (a – b) (a^2 + ab + b^2 )
Put the value of a^2 + b^2 + ab in above formula, we get
a^3-b^3 = (a-b)*0
a^3-b^3 = 0
a^3= b^3
when powers are equal then base also equal.
so, a=b
Now,
a^2/b - b^2/a
= a^2/a - a^2/a [since, a=b]
=0
Hope you have a great learning with us!!
All the Best,
