Question must be what is A+B?

Question:
The lines x + 3y = 4 and 3x – y = 6 intersect the y – axis at A and B respectively. A\(+\)B = ?
Options:
A) \(\cfrac{22}{3}\ Units\)
B)  \(\cfrac{26}{3}\ Units\)
C) \(\cfrac{29}{3}\ Units\)
D) \(\cfrac{32}{3}\ Units\)
Solution:
Ans:(a)

x + 3y = 4 --------- L₁ L₁                                                               3x –y = 6 -----------L₂

L₁ cuts y axis at A (0, \(\cfrac{4}{3}\))

L₂ cuts y axis at B (0, -6)

A\(+\)B = \(\cfrac{4}{3}\) + 6 = \(\cfrac{4 +18}{3}\)  = \(\cfrac{22}{3}\)   units
