NOT A RIGHT WAY PRESENTATION

Question:

The area of a rhombus (in sq cm) whose side is 24cm and one diagonal is 44cm is

Options:
A)

45 23

B)

90 23

C)

88 23

D)

807 23

Solution:

Ans: (c) A diagonal divides a rhombus into two equal parts and they are two equal isosceles triangles.

Length of equal side a = 24cm

Diagonal = 44 cm

Area of isosceles triangles = b44a²-b²     =  4444(24)²-(44)²

= 44  23    sq cm2

Area of rhombus = 2 x 44  23   = 88  23    sq cm2
