लड़कियों की एक पंक्ति जो उत्‍तर की ओर मुख किये हुए हैं, उसमें हुमा, गार्गी के बांए से 10वें स्‍थान पर है, जो दांए छोर से 21 वें स्‍थान पर है। यदि मालिनी, जो बांए छोर से 17 वें स्‍थान पर है और हुमा के दांए से चौथे स्‍थान पर है, तो पंक्ति में कुल कितनी लड़कियाँ हैं?

Question:

In a row of girls facing North, Huma is 10th to the left of Gargi, who is 21st from the right end. If Malini, who is 17th from the left end, is fourth to the right of Huma, how many girls are there in the row? 

Options:
A) 37 
B) 43
C) 44 
D) Data inadequate
Solution:

Ans: (b)

Gargi is 21st from right and Huma is 10th to the left of Gargi. So, Huma is 31st  from right.

Malini is 4th to the right of Huma. So, Malini is 27th from the right. Also, Malini is 17th from the left.

∴ Number of girls in the row (26+ 1+16) = 43.
