how 5+2 came

Question:

     4 men and 3 women finish a job in 6 days and 5 men and 7 women can do the same job in 4 days. How long will 1 man and 1 woman take to do the work?  

Options:
A)

  2227   days

B)

    25 12   days

C)

    5 17   days

D)

  12722    days

Solution:

(4m + 3w)×6 = (5m + 7w)×4

24m + 18w = 20m + 28w

4m = 10w

mw=104=52   

m : w = 5 : 2

Note : In such type of questions always try to find the efficiency of man and woman and others which are mentioned in the question.

From question,

(4m + 3W)x6 = (1m + 1W) x D

(4 × 5 + 3 × 2) × 6 = (1 x 5 + 1 x 2 ) × D

(20 + 6)×6 = 7 × D

D =  1567    = 22 27   days
