Question:
The difference of simple and compound interest for two years at 4 percent per annum is \(\unicode{x20B9} \)20. The principal amount (in \(\unicode{x20B9} \)) will be :
Options:
A) 12,000
B) 12, 500
C) 13,000
D) 13,500
Solution:
Ans: (b) \(\therefore\) Simple Interest \(=\unicode{x20B9} \cfrac{100\times2\times4}{100}\unicode{x20B9} 48 \)

and Compound Interest

If the difference is \(\unicode{x20B9}\cfrac{4}{25} \)

, sum = \(\unicode{x20B9} \)100

If the difference is \(\unicode{x20B9} \)20, sum = \(=\unicode{x20B9} \cfrac{100\times25\times20}{4}\)    = \(\unicode{x20B9} 12,500 \)
