in the "accidents by motor vehicle(per 1000)" it should be clearly defined wrt what 1000 people or 1000 car what it exactly wants to say.

DIRECTIONS: Study the following graph carefully to answer the question given below?



Assuming the number of cars as the number of motor vehicles itself. the motor vehicles accidents is what percent of passanger cars in U.S. if the total population of U.S. is 70 crore?

Options:
A) 33.31%
B) 1.60%
C) 6.25%
D) 16%
Solution:
Ans: (b) Total number of passenger cars = Number of motor vehicles

\(\cfrac{700000000}{1000}\times483\) = 338100000

Total number of motor vehicles accidents

\(\cfrac{338100000}{1000}\times16\) =5409600

\(\therefore\) percent = \(\cfrac{5409600}{338100000}\times100\)

= 1.60%
