area of triangle ADE is given . i think that should be 2x area adc or 2x area cbe

Question:
In the equilateral triangle ABC, AD = DE = BE, D and E lies on the AB. If each side of the triangle be 6 cm, then the area of the shaded region is:

Options:
A) 9 cm2
B)  \(6\sqrt{3}\) cm2
C) \(5\sqrt{3}\) cm2
D) None of these
Solution:
Ans: (b)

Area of shaded region = Area of \(\triangle\)ABC-Area of \(\triangle\)ADE

\(=\cfrac{\sqrt[]{3}}{4}\times6^2-\cfrac{1}{2}\times2\times3\sqrt[]{3}=6\sqrt[]{3}\) cm2
