from where 6000-1200k = 3600-600k

Question:

The money with two persons Anil and Sunil are in the ratio of 3:4. Anil can spends money in 5 days and Sunil can spends money in 6 days. Both spend money with their constant rate. After how many days will their money be in the ratio of 9:20?

Options:
A)

1 day

B)

2 days

C)

3 days

D)

4 days

Solution:

Ans: (d) Let the initial money with Anil and Sunil be 300 and 400 respectively.

Money spend by Anil in one day = 300/5 = 60

Money spend by Sunil in one day = 400/6 = 200/3

Let after k days the ratio will be 9:20

 \(\cfrac{300-60k}{400-(200k/3)}=\cfrac{9}{20}\)

6000 – 1200k = 3600 – 600k

2400 = 600k

k = 4
