How can you get root of 5 when in the formula its only (s-a) in the denominator??

Question:

In the given figure, AM, AN and BC are tangents to the circle. Find the radius of the circle if AB = 8, BC = 7 and CA = 9 units respectively.

A)

125 units

B)

C)

12 units

D)

512  units

Solution:

Ans: (b) This is the case of an escribed circle.
