Walking at the rate of 4 kmph a man covers certain distance in 2 hours 45 min. Running at a speed of 16.5 kmph the man will cover the same distance in how many minutes?

Options:

40 minutes

45 minutes

50 minutes

Solution:

 

Ans: (b) According to first situation total distance covered by man

= speed × time

= 4 km/hour × (2 hour + 45 min)

= 4 km/hour ×  2+4560   

= 4 ×  2+34    = 4 ×  114   

Total distance = 11 km

Now at the speed of 16.5 kmph,

it will require =11/16.5=0.6666 hours=40 minutes
