Question:

Samar lives at P and Rocky lives at Q. Samar usually goes to meet Rockey at Q. Samar covers the distance in 4 hr at 140 km/hr on a particular day. Rockey started moving away from Samar. While Samar was moving towards Q thus Samar took total 5 hr. to meet Rocky. What is the speed of Rocky?

A)

    60 km/hr

B)

 56 km/hr

C)

    28 km/hr

Solution:

Distance = 4 × 140 = 560 km

     Time =  DistanceRelative Speed   

     5 =  560140–SR     SR→speed of Rocky   

    700 – 5SR = 560

     SR =  1405   = 28 km/hr
