The National Testing Agency (NTA) has prescribed the syllabus for the Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET) 2022 on the official notification.
Those who are appearing for the exam must prepare all topics from the class 12 NCERT syllabus. The syllabus is divided into four sections: section 1A, section 1B, Section 2, and section 3.
Section 1A and 1B will have language questions, section 2 will have domain-specific questions, and section 3 will have general aptitude questions.
As per the notification, the exam is held tentatively in the first week of July 2022. Therefore, it is essential to go through the detailed syllabus and plan your preparation without wasting your time.

NTA CUET UG Syllabus 2022
The NTA CUET Syllabus includes subjects and syllabus of class 11th and class 12th. According to the CUCET Exam Pattern, the entrance exam will include four sections:
- Section 1A: Language test
- Section 1B: Language test
- Section 2: Domain-specific test
- Section 3: General aptitude test
The exam will be conducted in two shifts. You will have to appear for Section 1A (language paper), two chosen domain subjects, and the general aptitude test in the first shift.
In the second shift, you will appear for the other four domain subjects and an additional language test (Section 1B) if opted for.

CUET Syllabus of Section A (Language Test)
- The questions in this section will test one’s proficiency in the language, based on comprehension passages, fundamentals of grammar, and vocabulary.
- In the comprehension section, you will be evaluated on your understanding of a passage and its central theme, meanings of words used therein, etc.
- The grammar section entails correcting grammatically incorrect sentences, filling blanks in sentences with appropriate words, etc.
- Questions on synonyms & antonyms will check one’s command of English vocabulary.

CUET Syllabus for General Aptitude Test 2022
According to the CUET 2022 Syllabus, the general aptitude test question paper is based on the following subjects:
- General Knowledge & Current Affairs
- General Mental Ability
- Numerical Ability
- Quantitative Reasoning (Simple application of basic mathematical concepts arithmetic/algebra geometry/mensuration/statistics taught till Grade 8)
- Logical and Analytical Reasoning
Solving NTA CUET mock tests will help you understand the type of questions asked from these subjects. The question paper will have multiple-choice questions based on NCERT textbooks, and there is a negative marking for each wrongly answered question.
There will be a total of 75 questions in the general aptitude test. Out of which, you have to attempt 60 questions in 60 minutes.
NTA CUET 2022 Exam Pattern
The UGC (University Grants Commission) confirmed that the Common Universities Entrance Test is conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode, i.e., online mode. The pattern of the question paper will comprise multiple-choice questions.
According to the CUCET Exam Pattern, the entrance exam will include four sections.
The exam will be conducted in two shifts. You will have to appear for Section 1A (language paper), two chosen domain subjects, and the general aptitude test in the first shift.
In the second shift, you will appear for the other four domain subjects and an additional language test (Section 1B) if opted for.
This is the first section of the CUET Exam 2022. Note that the questions are designed to test your English language skills and the standard of questions will be class 12 level.
In the language test, the questions are mainly based on different types of reading comprehension passages as given below.

You can attempt the Section 1A CUCET question paper in any one of the 13 languages namely, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam, Kannada, Gujarathi, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, Odia, and English.
Section 1B will be held in 19 languages that include French, German, Spanish, Persian, Italian, Nepali, Arabic, Sindhi, Kashmiri, Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Santhali, Tibetan, Japanese, Manipuri, Russian, Chinese, and Konkani.
