IBPS PO Prelims Exam Date and Shift Timings 2017- IBPS PO is one of the most top-rated exams of all banking exams in India. IBPS PO is taken by huge number of banking aspirants all over India and due to huge number of population attempting this exam, this exam becomes one of the toughest exams to crack. IBPS PO, this year, has made some major changes, which is IBPS PO is going to follow the pattern of SBI PO from this year. For students to crack IBPS PO without any inconvenience, candidates need to be completely familiar with the IBPS PO exam date and shift timings.

This year onwards, IBPS has decided to incorporate total 155 questions under 3 hours of duration. Given below is a detailed structure of IBPS PO selection procedure-

IBPS PO Selection Procedure

The IBPS PO exam Selection Process consists of 3 phases which are given below –

i) Phase I – Online Preliminary Examination (Objective Test) – (No major changes from last year)

ii) Phase II – Online Mains Examination (Objective + Descriptive)- (Pattern changed)

iii) Phase III – Interview

IBPS PO Exam Pattern

The revised exam pattern is as follows-

This year, IBPS Prelims Pattern doesn’t have any major changes. Based on the IBPS PO notification, the examination will be on the similar lines with IBPS PO Prelims 2016 and SBI PO Prelims 2017. Whatever marks is secured by the candidate in the Phase I (Prelim Exam) will not be considered for the final selection. The IBPS PO Prelims exam is qualifying in nature.

The prelims exam of IBPS PO will have the following pattern –

IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern

In the IBPS PO mains examination, the Objective Test is divided into 4 sections followed by a descriptive test. The IBPS PO mains exam pattern has changed from this year onwards. The revised pattern highlights are as follows –

  • Computer awareness section has been removed and Computer Aptitude section has been added to the Reasoning Ability section.
  • Quantitative Aptitude section is now called Data Interpretation & Analysis – Hence DI questions are expected to form a majority of this section.
  • The total questions in the exam have reduced to 155 from 200 last year. This is again on the lines of the SBI Exam.
  • The overall time of the objective exam has increased to 180 mins from 140 mins last year. This is again on the lines of the SBI Exam. With questions reduced and the time increase, the difficulty level of the questions is expected to go up.

New exam pattern of IBPS PO Mains exam has been provided below-

IBPS PO Descriptive Test Syllabus

The IBPS PO descriptive test is a test which tests a candidate’s skill in descriptive test. In the descriptive test, it is expected that 1 essay and 1 letter questions will be asked. There should also be a practice of writing essays on all current topics preferably on a computer. So, all candidates are advised to practice questions to gain the required expertise.

  • IBPS PO Prelims Exam is of qualifying nature. Marks obtained in mains examination only will be counted for interview call. Final merit list will be made on the basis of total marks obtained in IBPS PO Mains exam & Interview.
  • There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in prelims & mains.
  • There will be sectional as well as over-all cut off in prelims & mains both.

Age Limits : 20 to 30 years

Application Fees: 

- Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.


- Rs. 600 /- for all others
 


Selection Procedure: Candidates will be selected on the basis of Online examination viz. Prelims and Mains and qualified candidates will be called for interview.
